Why are you running for office?
As a taxpayer I have watched our tax dollars go towards ridiculous efforts that do not benefit the people. From illegal immigration to climate change, we need people in office to make decisions that represent the people rather special interests or non citizens.
Do you believe, as President Joe Biden has said, that “democracy is on the ballot” and, if so, in what way?
Yes. After watching the DNC swap Joe Biden for Kamala Harris based on polling data, now more than ever democracy is dying. Hundreds of thousands of voters voted for Biden in the Primary Election here in Maryland, unfortunately, they have all been disenfranchised due to a change a few elites made for them in Washington, DC.
Will you accept the presidential election result once the totals have been certified by the states and any legal challenges adjudicated?
Absolutely. After certification and legal challenges, if any, I have no problem accepting the results. I am no Stacy Abrams or Hillary Clinton, I will concede if I lose.
Do you support additional assistance for Ukraine’s military forces two years into Russia’s invasion?
I do not support more financial assistance to Ukraine at this time. I would like to focus my attention on the invasion at our southern border.
Should the United States be speaking out more clearly, as Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen has suggested, about civilian casualties in Gaza?
Senator Chris Van Hollen has a personal antisemitism problem. I hope he gets help for that. Further, my opponent did a candidate survey with the Baltimore Banner prior the primary election claiming he will work on the Hill for a two state solution in Israel. Seems he is clueless on the matter and I hope some of his Jewish friends help him understand that Hamas isn’t looking for a Kumbaya moment.
Should Congress act to protect abortion rights following the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision?
The Supreme Court made the right decision. It should be left up to the states to decide.
Constituents are increasingly expressing concern about suburban crime. What more can the federal government do to help?
We must federally fund our first responders. It is a shame our departments are underfunded and are having a tough time recruiting. Since my opponent, Johnny Olszewski, implemented his executive order titled, “Equitable Policing” all areas have become more dangerous. Especially Towson, White Marsh, Middle River and even Hunt Valley. Let’s drop the orders that have strapped our police and allow them to protect and serve.
How would you rate outgoing Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger’s performance over 21 years in office? And how would you compare or contrast it with your approach?
Dutch is liked by many, and I have nothing but the best wishes for him on his way out of office. In contrast, I want to be available to all residents. We need more Town Halls and when I am not on the Hill, I will be accessible at the district office. You can’t properly represent people you do not speak to on a regular basis. I would also like to speak to the journalists that work at publications such as this one. All of these questions and not one pertaining to inflation, the oil reserves, the opioid epidemic, or education? Clearly, we need to have a conversation.
What action, if any, would you favor to curb unlawful crossings at the United States’ southern border?
I support closing the border until all those that are awaiting to see an immigration judge have been processed. I also believe only American citizens should qualify for public assistance. We must end all subsidies/resources being utilized for those in our country unlawfully. Also, all detainer requests from ICE must be honored by all jurisdictions and states.
