Biden wears ‘Trump 2024’ hat at Pennsylvania fire station to promote unity

President Joe Biden briefly wore a “Trump 2024” hat while visiting the Shanksville, Pa., Volunteer Fire Department on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The Trump campaign quickly seized on a picture from the event, writing, “Thanks for the support, Joe!”

Andrew Bates, the White House senior deputy press secretary, reacted on social media saying Biden had shared a message recalling the “bipartisan unity” in post-9/11 America, calling for Americans to return to this spirit with the approach of the election.

A video of Biden putting on the hat spread quickly on social media.

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump stood next to one another Wednesday morning in New York City to honor the victims of 9/11. The solemn occasion came hours after a tense presidential debate Tuesday night, during which Trump and Harris prodded one another over their records in the White House.

Harris jokingly invited viewers to attend a Trump rally to experience “a really interesting thing to watch.”

“You will see during the course of his rallies, he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter,” Harris said of Trump. “He will talk about ‘windmills cause cancer.’”

“What you will notice is people leaving early out of exhaustion and boredom,” she said.

Trump fired back, accusing Harris of organizing transportation for her rally attendees.

“People don’t go to her rallies, there’s no reason to go,” Trump said of his political opponent. “The people that do go, she’s busing them in and paying them to be there.”

“We have the biggest rallies, the most incredible rallies in the history of politics,” he added. “That’s because people want to take their country back.”

A YouGov poll conducted Wednesday morning found most Americans believe Harris won the debate. In that poll, just 28% of respondents chose Trump as the winner. The research company said it polled nearly 3,380 people.
